Roots of (r)Evolution
Tree of Life by Tamara Adams
All (r)evolution takes place in our Bodies.
Oppression is cyclical. It lives in our bodies, and it spreads easily when we act from our triggers. In order to facilitate lasting change, it is necessary to heal our bodies in the places where patterns have become unconscious. This healing is often accessed when we have courage to go to the roots of an emotion, and connection with our ancestors facilitates this process and infuses it with purpose and power.
There is plenty of healing work to do with the ancestors who are wounded, but I wanted to remind us that there is also a wellspring of wisdom and support in our blood as well.
This meditation is a guided journey to introduce you to one of your kind, indigenous ancestors who is ready to guide you through this healing process. I am not an expert or a specialist in this particular work, but one of my ancestors guided me to create this meditation, and I would be so touched if it helps you on your journey in some way.
This is simply a start, please seek out trained professionals as you continue to dive deeper, if you are new to body-based practices, or if you feel you need additional support. There is plenty of healing work to do with the ancestors who are wounded, but I want to remind us that there is also a wellspring of wisdom and support in our blood as well.
The meditation is twenty minutes, and you’ll want to have a comfortable place to journal, a candle, and your notebook handy.
Thank you for doing this work. For additional resources on anti-racism and social justice work that I am compiling, please visit the page on (r)evolution. Blessed be. Kundrie
