(r)evolution: radical love
“Radical simply means grasping things at the root.”
― Angela Davis
Thank you for showing up in this community. The work of connecting to our bodies and the earth is sacred work. This spiritual path is absolutely intertwined with the path of activism, and social justice is an inherent part of that work. Our personal need for integrity pushes us to keep showing up and speaking out to create a just and fair world.
Yes, we are being challenged, but we were made for this moment. Dismantling an outdated colonial operating system demands us to grow, to stretch, to meet the moment, to become who we are meant to be and play the role our world needs us to play.
It is time for Radical Change.
Every voice, action, and process matters in this turning of the tides. Every one of our unique medicines is being called to action. The assertion of our gifts looks different for each of us, and we are united by a certain urgency at the same time. We are the ones we have been waiting for, and yes, we were made for these times. It is time to stand up for the world you want to live in.
Below I have linked to a page of resources I have come across so far in my un-learning, and I simply want to share them with you. It is ongoing, as is my own work. You may access it here: (r)evolution resources.
Of course social justice and environmental justice are linked, and this rooting into nature is essential as a starting point. Nature teaches us so much about boundaries and valuing our unique path. I want to highlight in particular the work in Intersectional Environmentalism by Leah Thomas, as it is committed to calling out the connection between social justice and environmental movements. Both are rooted in objectification. I hope you are able to read more about it if this movement interests you.
Please trust the work that is yours to do, and follow your own integrity and compass for how to manage your expectations for yourself as you navigate through the unknown. Please know you are part of a dedicated community, and we support one another in the dismantling of systems of colonialism and power over.
All (r)evolution begins in our bodies.
I was guided to record a meditation for you this month that will connect you with one of your ancestors who is able to support you on this journey of un-learning systematic oppression by reaching back to a time before this current paradigm existed and pulling that knowing forward in your body.
There is plenty of healing work to do with the ancestors who are wounded, and this does not replace that, AND I want to remind us that there is also a wellspring of wisdom and support in our blood as well. There are additional details at the link here. (ancestor roots meditation) May it serve the evolution of our human family well.
Thank you, from the depths of my heart for doing this work. I know it is not easy to examine yourself in this way and change patterns and internalized colonialism, and it is absolutely necessary. Our current trajectory is absolutely unsustainable and the space for being rooted in love and diversity is essential. May our continued work in creating the new paradigm together serve the highest and deepest good for all beings.
Please take care wild ones,
Erin Kundrie
“You have to act as if it were possible to radically transform the world. And you have to do it all the time.”
